He he, I finally finished the drawing that I started at the end of Oktober. I've been so busy that I almost didn't find any time for my hobby's, like reading and drawing. We had a vacation and my birthday, busy at work and so many other things, and my health isn't always that good so that's because I couldn't find the time. Now it is also a busy time with our company and my husband has his birthday this weekend so the whole family will come, which we always enjoy and there is christmas of course. It's always such a warm time!

The book of Monika Peetz I've finished this week and the book of Diana Gabaldon I'm still reading, it is the 8th book of the serie and it has 829 pages. I loooove the serie she wrote!!!

I found a little painting that I made last year and I would like to share it with you.

These days, we celebrate "Sinterklaas" in the Netherlands and I believe in Belgium too. His birthday is on the 6th of December but lots of families celebrate his birthday today, because it is weekend. We get presents then and we have special cookies for this occasion: "speculaas" and "pepernoten". I think it's a lot like Santa Claus. It's a family occasion here in Holland.

Spain

We've been to Spain for 6 days and as you can see the weather wasn't all that good. I think in the Netherlands it was even bether, which is very strange in this time of year.
These are some pictures of the beach in Benidorm, a wellknown city and beach in the summer season.

We went here to watch the MotoGp races, the last one of this season. It was a little rainy and a little cold, but we enjoyed it.

The last day we went to Valencia, a beautiful city, we were just in time before the big market closed, where they sell all kinds of fresh food, like vegetables and fish and spanish things.
The last picture is the view from the window of our apartment. Beautiful isn't it? All orange trees, in front. There are a lot of them around Valencia. The last day the sun was shining! We enjoyed our little vacation!

I made this picture of Bram with my Iphone Hipstamatic app. I love this app. You can make beautiful pictures with this and there are a lot of different possibillities.

I started this drawing and this is how I begin, I draw the face and then I colour the shades very lightly, and when I go further, I layer and layer and layer very lightly. I'm thinking of maybe to use some pastels as well, but I let you see when it is finished.
As for now, I'm going to enjoy the beautiful weather and a cup of coffee and I wish you a very nice day!

A little bird and drawings

I made this picture from the inside of our livingroom, from a little bird who is eating in our new little birdshouse,
I really love to watch them and there are som many every day, I do love these birds and try to feed them every winter to help them get trough.

I made these new drawings lately, the one above is called Reflections and the one below is called Sophie.
I hope you like them, i really had fun making them and for the Reflections drawing i tried to draw her a little from the side of the face.

Now it's almost the end of October and now you can see the leaves are falling of the trees faster but the colors are so beautiful! Nature changes each season and that is every time a little miracle.

I tried a drawing a little bit in her style...

The weather here in the Netherlands is so beautiful for the end of September. Officially it's already autumn but it feels like summer right now. We didn't have much of a summer, it rained a lot and the temperature was also low for the time of year, but now it is so beautiful outside, in the US they call it Indian Summer as I remember it.

New drawings and attending a class

I made two new drawings, one isn't finished yet, I'm adding a little blue on the left side of the face as you can see for the background. The other face is kind of a Mandala, I just love to watch them and I thought it would look nice.

I'm so excited because I'm attending a class of Suzi Blu, "a lovely dream". It is fun and I hope to learn a lot from her, it is about making artwork and about journaling. She makes beautiful artwork, I just love it.

I tried to make a drawing like she does, and then I have to work with watercolor paint and colored pencil and collage.

Bram and kitchen

Now summer has almost gone and I feel like blogging again.

Bram is helping me today with the administration for our company, he's printing the pages as you see.

So cute, I could'nt help but taking some pictures. He is hiding in the most strange places sometimes, it makes me laugh.

Lately we have been looking for a new kitchen, and I think we found one, it is really what we love, a nostalgic kitchen. It would fit in our home and I love the color. We haven't decided yet, but we are going to this week. I don't hope someone else is buying it because it's a showroom kitchen and it has a very nice price, so it is perfect for us. I tell you when we've made a decision, I'm very excited about it.

Music, dentist and summer

Lately I've been listening to Rumer

I really love this music, she has such a wonderful voice!!!!

And I love the new song of Shania Twain, we had to wait for a long long time, but now she's back!!!
I've been to Antwerp, Belgium for a concert of her, I think it was in 2002 or so, and I really hope she comes to the Europe sometime, but I in 2012 she's in Las Vegas, I saw on her Site.

Last saturday I had to go to the dentist, because I had such a pain in my left cheek, friday I was there already and there were taken photo's and he looked at my teeth, but couldn't say what caused the pain, and either could I, but saterday morning when I woke up, it was very clear to me that it was a tooth in the back.
The dentist had to remove it and luckily the pain has almost gone. I'm almost turning 50 and I'm getting al kinds of things, likeI fell in January on my face, it was bruised, the dentist had to make my tooth because a little peace broke of. Then later I had two holes, which he had to fill and now this!!! And that for someone who had beautiful teeth and never had anyhing or any pain.
Is it my age??? I don't know, but I hope it stops.
I stay optimistic and hope I never ever have to have so much pain in my mouth.

Time passes quickly, already it is July the 11th. The weather is nice, some 25 degrees C. Later this week it is getting a little colder they say. A lot of people are away for their vacation here in our region. Most of the time they go all somewhere in southern Europe, it is really beautiful there.

Mallorca

We have been to Mallorca early June, and had a wonderfull vacation. The weather wasn't all that good but the Island was beautiful! We stayed in an appartment which was in a beautiful parc as you can see on the picture above. One day we headed north, in a car that we rented, and that was so beautiful, as you can see in the second picture, very small roads and many curves before you could get there. The town we stayed was called Cala d'or and was really beautiful.

New drawing and books

I made a new drawing that i want to show you. I haven't had a lot of time to draw lately, so busy with work and some health problems, but i hope it will get better so i can draw more. Now i'm reading when i have a little time in between things. I'm almost finished with the book of Santa Montefiore, Villa Magdalena. And i think i buy the new book of Nicci French which will come out by the end of this week, Blue Monday. I love romantic novels and books like Nicci French and i also love the books of Diana Gabaldon and Jean Auel.

Springtime and other things

Springtime has begun here in the Netherlands, and it seems it is already in the middle of the summer, because the temperature is 25 degrees celsius for the whole week now and on some days even warmer. I can't remember we had this weather with Easter before. It is very unusual.

I took this picture of Bobby last week, I love it, because it is very hard to take a good picture of him because of his black hair.

I got this from my mother last week, she crochets a lot and we love it, because these are totally hot now I think.

I'm listening to Lady Antebellum while I write this post, I love this music, they have beautiful voices. I love this country music, also other artists like this such as Shania Twain (hope she's gonna make new music) and the Dixie Chicks.

Last summer

It is spring right now, and that makes me think of vacation. I have some pictures that I didn't show you yet about our vacation last June in Portugal. It is such a beautiful country!!! We went to the Algarve in a beautiful village called Albufeira. It was really great and the food also!!!

When we hired a car and drove into the country, we saw rubber tree's.

Where will we go this year? I don't know yet, I have so many places that I want to visit some day...

Skadi

I started this drawing around christmas and finished it last week.

It is named Skadi, goddess of winter (in Scandinavia).

Because of Bram, our little kitten, I didn't draw last week, he needs lots of attention, and jumps up and down on everything, but that will come when he feels totally at home. We laugh a lot about him, now and then he has his minutes when he is just crazy.

We live near a river in the Netherlands and the water is risen, but luckily not nearly as high as in Australia, we see these images of Australia in the evening news and I have to think about all that they have lost. It is horrible.

I want to introduce to you our little kitten named Bram. We have him since last sunday and he is about 10 weeks old now. He's so cute, we just love him. All goes well and Bobby, our dog, loves him too.
Our old cat dyed just before christmas and he was almost seventeen years old. We missed him so much, we had to have a new kitten. And here he is, our Bram! Don't you just love him?

Drawings and photo's of birds

These drawings I made in november, I wanted to show you.

I've been taking photo's the last couple of days, of the birds in our garden. I love birds, I feed them every winter so they have enough to eat, and I just simply love to watch them. The photo above is from a tomtit or great tit (I hope the translation is right) in dutch it is called a "koolmeesje", the photo of the bird with the red dot is from the great spotted woodpecker, in dutch "de grote bonte specht", which I never saw before in our garden, and now I've seen him since a few days. It is very cold here in the Netherlands for this time of year and in the whole of Europe I believe, but we are inside our house and make it cozy with a cup of hot chocolate and speculaas, a sort of dutch biscuits we eat in this time of year.

Yesterday my husband was working and I was home alone (sounds like the movie).
I cooked potatoes and when my husband was home I baked them and we ate them with pork tenderloin, and homemade applesauce in which i did some raisins (tasted good).

I also took a picture of the animals in the meadow next to us (I hope my translations are ok)
There are a camel, lama's and a bull. Interesting isn't it, when go out your kitchen door and look in the eyes of a camel or a lama, and they do have beautiful eyes and great long lashes!

I did some photoshopping of photo's I made this summer. I discovered that it is a very fun thing to do because you can make a picture that turned out not so good into a beautiful picture. I did this in the free downloadable photo edititing program of photoscape, ( www.photoscape.org) it is very easy to use.

I've been enjoying the wheather the last few days. It has been so beautiful! 20 degrees Celsius.

We've been outside a lot. I like the birds singing in the morning at this time of year.

It's been quit a while since I blogged. I'm not a great blogger, I don't know what to tell.
But hé, I'll try.
I've been sick a lot since the last time I've blogged.
First we had in August two weeks vacation, we stayed at home, the weather was good, so what could we wish for more? (I hope my english is ok)
Then I got the flue, not the SwineFlue, but still, I didn't feel well. Then for a few days it was over, and my husband got a cold, then I got a cold too. That took until half september and now one of my illnesses is playing up, psoriatic arthritis, so I have a terrible pain in my spine. And I got a terrible migraine too. But that I have often.
So, that was what I've done lately.
Later on I will post the drawings I made lately.

I think this sounds a little depressing, but hé, I did some fun things too!
I made some drawings, which I will post this week, and I went to my drawing/painting class two times now, and that was fun. We had to draw a glass vase, and a bottle of paint and so.
We had to learn how to draw an elipse, it sounds easy, but I found it a bit difficult, since I draw faces only. But I learn a lot from this!

I made some new drawings the last couple of weeks and I wanted to show you.

In september I'm going to follow a course in drawing and painting and I'm very excited about it.

I feel I have so much to learn, about the shadows and the colours etc.

I have so many questions.

I like to draw, it makes me feel relaxed.

But I'm a little scared to paint the same face, I don't know why that is, maybe I want to do things too perfect (I'm a perfectionist) and that is my fear, or it is an anxiety for failure or so.

I'm going to find out I think and I hope so because I want to learn and paint.

I think about going to Weight Watchers next week, because when I want to loose weight I have to do something. But in another way a'm scared to go, because then I think that I can eat nothing that I like anymore, you have to think about everything you put in your mouth. Sometimes I think I just have to live with being overweighed but other times a'm so tired of this, I want this weight to be gone! So i'm gonna have to look at this possitive and do something I think!

I'm reading a book now about not dieting anymore, but I don't know if I can dot this. I think that if you want to loose weight you have to diet, or am I wrong? They say in the book that you have to change your eating patterns, but that is the same as dieting or am I so wrong in this?
I didn't diet for the last two years, and I didn't pay attention to what I ate, but I didn't loose weight either. So, what am I going to do? I'm still figuring that one out!
